The Major Paper is a scholarly paper. The objective of this paper is for the student to formulate a conceptual framework for nursing management practice that encompasses personal key values, ethical principles, knowledge of self, and concepts studied through out the course.

GRADING CRITERIA For Paper:
1. Identify the qualities, values, and behaviors that you believe contribute to effective nursing management. Analyze professional (peer reviewed) literature related to how these qualities, values, and behaviors relate to management concepts you have studied during this course and how they relate to your knowledge of yourself (30 points).
2. Explain how your personal understanding of the qualities, values, and behaviors relate to the key concepts discussed in the course such as the management process (week1); communication (week 2); caring and ethics (week 3); providing an orientation for new staff and/or marketing (week 4); building teams (week 5), and evaluation (wk 6). Include how application of the values and behaviors to the key concepts may augment your practice as a manager, enhance delivery of patient care, and addresses ways to empower and motivate nursing staff as you help meet their needs (40 points).
3. Construct (draw) and explain a model that visually represents your conceptual framework or discuss a metaphor that represents your vision of the ideal manager based on your review of the literature and values (25 points).
4. This academic paper should be 8 -10 double-spaced pages. All sources are to be referenced according to The American Psychological Association (APA) format and citation style (5 points). [Correct headings for each section -1 point; Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax-2 points; Correct APA referencing and in-text citations–2 points.]P.S. paper is to be 8 pages without Title page and reference page.
