My ideas on the topic: Mention how the Affordable Health care act/ way of insurance reimbursement has lead to the need for evidence based practice in nursing.

In addition, relate Nursing Science and theory to providing evidence based practice. Possibly discuss historical perspective of nursing science and theory since that is what allows for evidence based practice. The benefits of evidence based practice such as improvement of patient outcomes, cost containment.

Discuss barriers to evidence based practice. Relate IOM future of nursing report to nursing practice: it states that nurses should practice to the fullest and best of their ability. (Maybe the conclusion can just mention how using theory in practice enhances the profession/ practice by providing a systematic approach, increasing patient outcome, increasing autonomy in nursing, in addition nursing science provides a body of knowledge specific to nursing discipline) I will attach relevant articles.
