We are looking for information that patients would like to be informed about, the ways to represent problematic information to patients like risk. Because it is a wide area to look for information, in the first part of the literature review, we are looking to answer following questions first, and later we will expand the search questions to cover bigger area if require:

What types of information are more suitable for patients, in a decision support system?
How a decision support system could be made to be more patient-friendly?
What decision-making systems already exist for patients to select the treatment, in particular breast cancer?

The following inclusion criteria will be used when selecting the literature:

Search will be limited to studies published in English Language in the last 5 years
Search will be done for the adult age group
Search would not be restricted to the UK to gain an international perspective
The reference lists of relevant papers would be reviewed to identify other articles
Once literature selected in accordance with the inclusion criteria, if it is possible, an independent reviewer will assess the articles quality and relevance before data extraction process and analysis. Literature citations will then be imported into a reference manager EndNote X5 creating a bibliography database, which is then used to track and extract data. Findings from this literature review will inform the work that is going to be carried out in the next phases of research.
