Research proposal overview
The health concerns of rural communities can no longer be ignored with damaging reports emerging over the past few years.
Though it is not surprising to hear that rural and remote members are far more disadvantaged compared to their urban counterparts, very little is known about the experiences of health professionals these areas (find research that supports that this). However, there have been reservations raised about many factors such as (1) the turnover of health professionals in rural and remote health systems, (2) the lack of community participation between members and health professionals, and (3) the shortage of culturally sensitive health services to members of the community.
The research proposal will mainly focus on the experiences of rural and remote health professionals. At the same, it will also look into how government policies have been applied over the years in meeting their needs.
